      Well the problem is normalizing. I mean if you do it just really don't tell anybody but ideally you wouldn't buy it either because then you normalize it and whenever we normalize exploitation it becomes commercialized + the animal ends up being abused. But really it's the least of our concerns because it is easy to respect the bees these days. Unfortunately some people that raise bees do it in a very disturbing way where they rip the Queen's wings off is my understanding this way she doesn't leave the hive. And there's other aspects of the practice that make it violent to the sentient little critters. And we're learning more and more that they are sentient. Bees are fascinating creatures! Very intelligent and complex behaviors.

      I was talking with a friend recently who was sharing how she went vegan in the early '90s after watching 24 hours over the course of a couple of weeks of animal exploitation that was just shocking. It reminded me of when I watched Dominion and earthlings back to back last year. When you realize how horrific we treat animals It becomes obvious how even the most seemingly innocent thing can become the most violent thing. At the same time I do know beekeepers that own a very small Hive on their veganic farm most notably because they had them before they went vegan but the bees are free to leave if they want and they only pull from the overflow of honey. So long as they don't normalize the consumption to the point that somebody decides oh I would rather get this cheap abusive honey over here... You get my drift

    be careful, don't trust his speech so easily!! She is a saleswoman who sells her product with her body as a showcase. Would you accept her advice if she were overweight? hanging skin? it is undeniable that she had recourse to surgery, the human body despite diet and sport cannot produce collagen in a woman of 72 as in a woman of 20 without mentioning the impact of menopause and the upheaval of hormones .. His credo is to make people feel guilty by saying look at me at 72 years old and look at yourself? It's all about motivation!! Good nutrition and sport are excellent for your health; they slow down the effects of age on the body, but they are not a panacea. Every living thing is subject to entropy.

      Why all the gibberish generating? The only thing we're trying to say here is you don't need to consume body parts, organs and secretions to be as healthy or even healthier. @@VeganLinked Speaking of gibberish, first of all I invite you to express yourself with respect because I had this courtesy when writing my comment. regarding your guest of course her appearance is important given that she uses it as a standard to brag about her diet! Then what distinguishes the inhumanity of a man who feeds on meat from a chimpanzee who dismembers a subspecies of primate for food? Is he also committing abuse? no herbivorous species is completely herbivorous; I would cite for my example only the deer which methodically crushes young birds to extract the calcium. Every living being knows innately what its body needs to survive. I was not there to advocate meat but I note that in the name of the so-called fight for animal welfare you do not hesitate to show your intolerance towards those who would have audacity not to think like you!!

      So glad you're realizing what's up! In short I like to recommend legumes, Greens, greens, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices and a variety of each. Within these categories there's tens if not hundreds of thousands of options to tailor a diet specific to your desires and needs. Legumes like black beans, soybeans, chickpeas, etc are all great examples. There's all kinds of greens and you want to keep a variety here and everywhere as well. So kale, arugula, romaine is excellent, and even sprouts. Some people get carried away with spinach, it's super healthy but only in moderation and with a variety of other greens. And you may want to pick baby spinach leaves instead of mature ones if you can just to reduce oxalate exposure but it's not a big deal as long as you're getting a variety. As for grains, I try to do whole grains like groat oats because these are of course better for you And easy to grit organic and in bulk. There's so many grains though like kamut, farro, buckwheat, bulgur, teff, etc. Fruits and veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs and spices all kind of speak for themselves as well. It's great to buy things in bulk and store them properly like in jars where they aren't going to get exposed to a lot of light air and heat. And you want to eat these promptly so they don't develop mold. You may want to avoid getting them from large open containers where you scoop them out because they may not be fresh. Legumes and grains on the other hand you can get from co-ops a lot of times from big dispensers. You may want to consider shopping at different grocery stores and asking when their fresh produce comes in. This way he can figure out where the best deals are and best produce. See if there's a local farmers market you can go to as well and maybe a co-op. And of course you can get a lot of great deals on the internet. I will follow up with some UA-camrs you can check out who our great chefs. But you can always do a Google search for whole plant food Vegan recipes. Sometimes I will qualify it further with whatever I have that I want to use up in the kitchen. So if I have split peas I need to use and an instant pot I'll look for "Vegan split pea instant pot recipe." Get good at making big salads. One quick easy thing to do is just have some romaine washed up, rinse a can of chickpeas or black beans for example and put those on top as a great starting base. Then just add whatever toppings you have whatever other toppings you may have. I like to add a little nutritional yeast, vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, kelp granules for iodine, some seeds and nuts, maybe an avocado, red cabbage, etc. Today I had an Amy's enchilada dish that are quick and easy to make. But I also steamed some kale and added some mixed greens, and an organic bell pepper. I also added some various seasonings and a little tahini on the kale. Within 10 minutes I was eating a very delicious meal! I have a website that I'm working on called raisingchildrenvegan.com that may have some tips eventually for you. But I literally just built it this week in anticipation of future videos that I will be releasing on that topic.

    Interesting interview. Unfortunately, it has not become clear to me that animal protein itself is unhealthy or if it is actually the inseparable fats that are the primary cause. Furthermore, proponents of a plant-based diet never clearly explain what exactly the quantitative and qualitative effect is on the average human life. I am particularly thinking of the following factors: performance capacity, health, and lifespan.

    • @VeganLinked
      @VeganLinked День тому

      What you're running after is a little too nuanced and it's going to cause you to run into a tree and not see the forest. Chasing mechanisms of action doesn't get you anywhere hence the reason why his book is called Whole. There's so many metabolic pathways and synergistic effects and endless nutrients that what you're chasing really is going to get you nowhere. But the theory is that sulfur-containing amino acids, like methionine, which are very high in animal flesh, may be one of many culprits. So if you look into things like methionine restriction you will see the positive effects. All of the amino acids that we need come from plants. And plants have a better distribution of these amino acids at least when you simply eat a proper variety. When an animal, even a human animal, eats plants their body uses those nutrients, like amino acids, for that animal specific needs. And this is the end product. You don't want to consume the end product. The animal metabolize those nutrients for that animal specific body's needs, not yours. And this is why for example energy is lost when you go up a trophic level. And this may be why animal flesh has on average 64 times less antioxidants because the animal has already used up the antioxidants during metabolism. Is why plants are a hell of a lot better for you than consuming body parts, organs and secretions.

      As far as health and lifespan, well the totality of evidence clearly points at plants being most protective and decreasing your risk for chronic disease and all cause mortality. Eating animals increases your risk for chronic disease and all-cause mortality.

    • @VeganLinked

      Numerous scientific studies have provided evidence supporting the idea that a plant-based diet can contribute to a lower risk of heart disease. The Adventist Health Study-2, which included a large population of Seventh-day Adventists, found that individuals following a vegetarian diet (including both lacto-ovo vegetarians and vegans) had a lower risk of developing coronary heart disease compared to non-vegetarians. The study highlighted the protective effects of plant-based diets. EPIC-Oxford Study: The EPIC-Oxford study, part of the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition, examined the diets and health outcomes of over 65,000 participants. It found that vegetarians had a significantly lower risk of coronary heart disease compared to meat-eaters. Nurses' Health Study and Health Professionals Follow-Up Study: These long-term cohort studies in the United States involved over 200,000 participants. They found that a higher intake of plant-based foods, such as fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, was associated with a lower risk of coronary heart disease. The emphasis on plant-based sources of protein was particularly noteworthy. Interheart Study: The Interheart Study, a global case-control study, investigated risk factors for acute myocardial infarction (heart attack) in various populations. It found that a high intake of fruits and vegetables was associated with a lower risk of heart attack, emphasizing the cardiovascular benefits of plant-based foods. Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Trial: While not exclusively plant-based it can be done vegan, the DASH diet emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy. The DASH trial demonstrated that this dietary pattern can significantly lower blood pressure, a key risk factor for heart disease. Meta-analyses and Reviews: Several meta-analyses and systematic reviews have summarized the existing evidence on plant-based diets and cardiovascular health. These analyses consistently suggest that plant-based diets are associated with a lower risk of heart disease, including a reduction in blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and inflammation.

    Hi Karyn, a real pleasure to watch your video. I'm not a raw food vegan yet, but I am a vegetarian and eat fish occasionally ( cold water fish), for 30 years noy. I love when you say everybody's different, so true! I do some detox maintenance every once and while. I don't eat honey because I could never get real organic one. But I instead eat dates. Thanks for sharing, keep it up!!!

    Great interview, one thing… Humans are not herbivores. We are frugivores like our closest primate relatives in nature with whom we share over 99% of our DNA and the almost exact same digestive systems. Herbivores are much better able to digest cellulose than we are. There’s no need to moderate your intake of fruit as it’s what we’re designed to live on. Read 80/10/10 by Doug Graham and watch him on UA-cam as well John Rose’s channel to learn more.

      There's people all over the place saying all kinds of things. The people you mentioned are great but there's also great people that will also say we are omnivores. And that's just because we are capable of being this way. But we're also capable of being herbivores. And in the right conditions frugivores. At the end of the day I only want people to be vegan. Then they can pick which vore they want to be. Ultimately it comes down to what we do and the label then applies.

    • @JC-jr9hw
      @JC-jr9hw 23 години тому

      @@VeganLinked it’s not about labels. Every species on the planet has a species specific diet. We are no different except in that we refuse to admit it because we are addicted and brainwashed from birth. We are frugivores. It’s not an opinion. It’s a biological fact. People can eat whatever the hell they want and label themselves however they choose to, but it doesn’t change the biological fact that they are frugivores. If someone thinks we’re able to be herbivores then run outside and eat a bunch of grass and see how that digests. If they think they might be a carnivore or omnivore, then they should run outside and chase down an animal and eat it alive and drink all of its blood and eat the eyeballs and skin and let me know how that goes. If they think they might be a grainovore then just run outside and eat a bunch of wheat straight out of a wheat field and see how that digests. The thing is there are some very powerful people who do not want humanity to know that we are frugivores and they spend billions to confuse and mislead people on this topic because if people knew this and acted on it, they would be much more difficult to control, because they would not be mentally and physically ill. So yes, going vegan is a great start, but people shouldn’t stop there. They should have the courage to find their way to their species specific raw vegan frugivore diet and their lives, as well as the planet, will change for the better.

Finally able to reduce my meat eating to only twice a week. { Which is a large leap, for me }Other five days it’s home made vegetarian or vegan dishes and smoothies. My energy has increased, happier, and it is great to see there are more and more restaurants focused exclusively on interesting vegan cuisine. Love how it was explained, it is a gradual process. But light at end of tunnel will be reached; and there is a whole new world, ready to receive you. Blessings.

      awesome! thanks so much for sharing! I stopped eating red meat in the early 90's just because I heard some really gross things about worms in them. I developed a predilection and preference for beans and in college in the mid 90's was fortunate to have all kinds of healthier options like black bean burgers, veggie lasagna, bean burritos, etc... near campus. When I watched Gary Yourofsky's best speech in 2011, thanks to my wife, I was like, oh, I'm done with meat eggs and dairy completely now! We were mostly pescatarian by that point. So, it was pretty easy. Hopefully you can do it quick :) Vegetarian is scary, most people are lactose intolerant and don't even know it. But, dairy seems to be hard at first for a lot a lot of people to ditch. You should check out this 5 minute video by the beautiful Erin Janus: ua-cam.com/video/UcN7SGGoCNI/v-deo.htmlsi=Pli8G8ah5WfvGoq7 Here's the Gary Yourofsky video that made me realize the reality of what's up, he's a rockstar in the movement, well, was, he no longer does activism because he did SO MUCH!: ua-cam.com/video/es6U00LMmC4/v-deo.htmlsi=U6-tRySO3tDiHglF The main thing is, going vegan is a philosophy, not a diet, we do this because we don't want to exploit animals which inevitably results in dehumanizing them and abusing them. We don't want to hurt animals, and we don't need to. And realizing this and manning up to it is what makes us vegan. It isn't a "diet" because there's more to it than diet, but diet has the biggest impact. As a vegan you find a way to make it the healthiest way for you, which is easy once you get it down. There's tens, if not hundreds of thousands of edible whole food vegan options within the legumes, greens, grains, fruits, veggies, mushrooms, nuts, seeds, herbs & spices; key is finding the variety that works for your palate/desires/needs. It's called, developing a sophisticated palate. There is a learning curve, just like anything new and great you want to do in life. And if for some reason you have any difficulties there's countless people ready to help. The American College of Lifestyle Medicine is evidenced based nutrition and you can find a nutritionist, dietitian or physician that will help. But, you may not need any help. It may take more effort at first learning how to shop and prepare. I like bulk cooking my legumes and grains so I have several days worth for the whole family. Prep greens and what not as well for the upcoming days. There's some amazing UA-cam channels on whole food plant based cooking too. But, it's really easy at the end of the day once you do it enough and it's fun to learn. Also, it's easy to google "whole food plant based vegan" and qualify it with whatever you have like "black beans, sweet potatoes, kale" or whatever you're wanting to mix up and get ideas for. It's probably good to go gradual for some people so their microbiome may adjust. So, hopefully you can systematically remove and introduce new foods every day and be done and leave that death based diet in the past. Whole Food Plant Based eating / educating people about the ethics of veganism is indeed a WONDERFUL, healing lifestyle! Patience with the non-vegans and happy living by example is key. But, when I do I bite back with facts and I've seen this actually work ;) In fact, it appeared to have worked today with a so called carnivore changing his tone dramatically ;)

      I think Ellsworth lived to 104 actually. There was a rumor that he ate fish. But it's my understanding he ate fish before he went vegan. And when I talked to people that know him like Rich Roll and Doctors Dean and Ayesha Sherzais they said he did not eat fish. The only one who sort of said it was Dan Buettner. I asked him for clarification but he never responded.
